Notes: InnovationSpace was an interdisciplinary senior-level course at Arizona State University. The team worked together to become innovative and design driven, considering all the internal capabilities as well as external pressures as we examined the challenges and possibilities of power-wheelchair users. As the Graphic Designer of the group, I was responsible for the brand experience of our team and proposed product.

This project of mine includes the team logo (moov), product logos (cygnal/solis/trunc), product posters, presentations, book designs, graphics and charts, UI/UX prototype application, as well as promotional products and the exhibition design.

The first innovation proposal book includes the research and three concepts to solve problems that wheelchair users have. The three area of solutions were Cygnal for control, Solis for comfort, and Trunc for accessibility. The posters reflect these proposed products. The final Cygnal research proposal includes brand identity design information including who the brand is, what the brand provides, CMYK color palette, typography, and acceptable logo usage. As a whole, we have decided to focus and proceed with Cygnal, creating a final innovation proposal and a 3D-printed model of the actual Cygnal controller, along with an app prototype simulating the UI of Cygnal. There is a link below to view the UI/UX prototype app. Pushing the Cygnal brand even further, I’ve created custom UV spot coated business cards, t-shirts, pens, and mugs to give away at the exhibit.
