- Notes:
- InnovationSpace was an interdisciplinary senior-level course at Arizona State University. The team worked together to become innovative and design driven, considering all the internal capabilities as well as external pressures as we examined the challenges and possibilities of power-wheelchair users. As the Graphic Designer of the group, I was responsible for the brand experience of our team and proposed product. This experience includes the team logo, product logos, product posters, presentations, book designs, graphics and charts, as well as promotional products and the exhibition design. The first innovation proposal book includes the research and three concepts to solve problems that wheelchair users have. The three area of solutions were Cygnal for control, Solis for comfort, and Trunc for accessibility. The posters reflect these proposed products. As a whole, we have decided to focus and proceed with Cygnal, creating a final innovation proposal and a 3D-printed model of the actual Cygnal controller, along with an app prototype simulating the UI of Cygnal. Pushing the Cygnal brand even further, I've created custom UV spot coated business cards, t-shirts, pens, and mugs to give away at the exhibit.

Seeing is Believing
- Type:
- Year:
- 2015
- Size:
- 6" x 4"
- Software:
- Adobe InDesign CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6
- Photography:
- Mike Chhay
- Printer:
- Prisma Graphic
- Notes:
- Seeing is Believing is a perfect-bound booklet made using anamorphic typography, which in my definition means that it is typography that requires the viewer to view the message from a certain perspective in order for it to be recognized. As written in my book, the purpose of it is "to view two sides of a subject and aims to provoke thought about inherited and unwavering beliefs. It also aims for one to think realistically." After manual configuration and testing, Photoshop was used to automate a process that would divide the composition into panels ready to be printed on paper and folded. Once the paper was folded in an accordion-style manner, the paper contained two different distinct messages on the same side of the sheet with each message being visible from a certain angle. The messages were photographed and placed into InDesign to lay out the book and to add a short note to each image. The book was printed and bound with the help from the great people at Prisma Graphic. Red foil finish was added to the typography on the front and back cover.
